The Crab Committee has taken the initiative to prepare a coordinated, overall strategy for the Norwegian crab industry. This is to be able to make visible and facilitate the utilization of the potential that exists in the industry. This analysis will form the basis for further strategy work. The Crab Committee, which was appointed in 1992, has worked systematically with information, the crab conference and the generation of measures to develop the crab industry. The crab committee has in several contexts been highlighted as a model for an effective forum for a sector in the fishing industry. The aim of the analysis is to provide the best possible overview of the industry, the opportunities and the challenges it faces. This as a basis for the industry's players to make the best possible use of these opportunities. This will be important for the industry to be able to prioritize joint measures correctly. It is also a goal that the individual players should be able to see the opportunities that lie in the industry, make targeted investments and work in the same direction.
