BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The aim of this project is the creation of a rapid, easy to handle and economic biotechnological tool for the detection of nuisance species in port zonas and nearby. It will based on environmental DNA. The barrier to innovation due to the lack of awareness of potential users about the problems caused by biological invasions will be solved using innovative socioeducational strategies. Expectations are to design the tool, develop the methodology, validate it in a pilot assay in situ, and present it to potential users within the project life.
