Summary In the traditional production of clipfish, spotted fish and salt are placed in layers in a vessel, at the same time the vessel is filled with brine towards the end. After maturing in vats, the contents are turned over onto a pallet. From the pallet, the fish is transferred to drying trolleys (repositioning) before drying. After drying, the cuttlefish are sorted into different grades, before being packed and exported.
Transplanting cuttlefish is very hard manual work, which challenges both the working environment and the external environment. The process includes many fragmented work processes. Often two and two work together. They are delivered a pallet of fish, and start by removing excess salt from the fish. This is eaten or shaken off and often ends up on the floor. The fish is then transferred to the drying wagons, which are moved into the drying room.
In order to meet the market change and maintain value creation, it will be of considerable benefit to the company and streamline the conversion process.
Main goal:
To develop an efficient and automatic solution for feeding salted fish pallets into the transfer drum.
Sub-goals:
1. To develop an automatic pallet feeder that regulates the quantity of fish into the drum.
2. To put together a system that ensures good flow.
