The research program "Development of the system of annual monitoring of the state of bivalve molluscs exploited by hydraulic dredge" has been proposed to satisfy the requirements of the notice published by the Directorate General of Maritime Fishing and Aquaculture in the context of first three-year National Programme for fisheries and aquaculture, (Leg. May 26, 2004, n . 154 - scientific activities related to national management plan for hydraulic dredges and rakes vessel, ex Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No. 1967/2006 of the Council), namely the establishment of annual monitoring system of the status of shellfish bivalve exploited by hydraulic mechanized dredge in all the compartments affected by the exceptions to the ordinary minimum distance from the coast. In addition, the program included a series of research activities, as identified in the same Directorate General, and specifically: (1) Verification and synthesis of the analysis of biological assessment produced by the individual consortia molluscs sent to the administration in recent years; (2) Assessment of stocks of clams in place in the areas of maritime fishing compartments of Ancona and San Benedetto del Tronto; (3) Comparison with results of the analysis undertaken to date . The research activities by the Department of Fisheries Technology, CNR-ISMAR of Ancona have been carried out in the compartments of Ancona and San Benedetto del Tronto. Results of the biological evaluation of the clam resource in the two compartments of the Marche conducted until 2001, under the Act 41/1985, have been summarized. Furthermore, the results of the monitoring activities and its " mapping", have allowed the visualization of the spatial distribution of the resource clam along the coast (from 0.25 to 1 nm). Goals: (1) Assessment of annual monitoring system of the status of shellfish bivalve exploited by hydraulic mechanized dredge in all the compartments affected by the exceptions to the ordinary minimum distance from the coast Verification and synthesis of the analysis of biological assessment produced by the individual consortia molluscs sent to the administration in recent years; (2) Assessment of stocks of clams in place in the areas of maritime fishing compartments of Ancona and San Benedetto del Tronto.
