BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The project aims to address this in three key issues: a) The lack of objective indicators for decisions related to the adjustment of the calculated amount of feed, feeding rate and feeding area; b) The physical installations in the cage provide a limited opportunity to regulate the spread and distribution of the feed in relation to the area where the fish is standing and in relation to the environmental conditions; c) The physical infrastructure for data flow, energy supply and software in today's solutions cannot handle the new needs implicit in the improvements in part a) and part b). The work will be carried out in close collaboration between breeders, equipment manufacturers and researchers. The ideas will be verified through objective, practical experiments in commercial, large salmon cages.
