BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

"The main objectives of the Scheme are to set long term orientations of the use of the different sectors to tackle the social (ensuring social and generation mix, protecting the access to the sea and allowing the urban development), economic (marine farming, fisheries) and environmental (protecting the fragile ecosystem) challenges. The SMVM area is also part of Natura 2000 and recognised by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. The Scheme is being implemented and a follow-up committee under prefect supervision ensures dialogue with stakeholders (at least once a year)."
