The purpose of the project is to generate the knowledge needed before deciding on the establishment of a demo plant with a capacity of 1000 annual tons of fish in connection with a pulp mill, based on a new concept for industrial symbiosis. The ambition is to start building the demo facility shortly after the end of the project, to later expand it into a full-scale production facility with a capacity of 3,000 tons. Overall, the goal is for the concept to enable sustainable land-based fish farming with no or minimal net effect on the emissions from fish farming and the pulp mill as a whole.
