BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The project aims at identifying the most suitable areas for algal and invertebrate cultivation in the Estonian coastal waters. This analysis is based on the existing datasets of species distribution but in addition an assessment of the feasibility of Mytilus trossulus cultivation is based on their growth potental. The project also identifies the current data and knowledge gaps related to the algal and mussel farming.
