To undertake studies into the basic biology of Ballan Wrasse as a biological treatment for sea lice infestations on salmon in Irish fish farms. Various aspects of the work programme addressed the growth of wild stocks and the performance of captive individuals; the breeding of captive (wild) broodstock and egg, larval and juvenile development. Determination of feeding formulations and handling practices for the farmed wrasse.
