The project addresses three overarching questions that are important for developing good strategies against salmon lice: 1. How great is the effect of various control measures against salmon lice? 2. What are good rules of action at plant level to combat salmon lice? 3. How can breeders in an area best coordinate control measures against salmon lice to limit the infection pressure on farmed fish as well as on wild fish? Main objective: To generate knowledge for better empirically based strategies to control salmon lice. Sub-goals: 1. To quantify the effects of various control measures against salmon lice. 2. To develop good rules of action at facility level to combat salmon lice. 3. To investigate how control measures against salmon lice can best be coordinated between facilities in order to limit the infection pressure on farmed fish as well as on wild fish.
