Feasibility studies on new hatchery species. The goal of this sub-theme is to assess the biological and economical potential of new farmed animal species for production, with an emphasis on market demand and impact on the stages in the food production chain. (1) Estimate domestic market demand and price level of species under evaluation; (2) Estimate intensive production cost of canditate species; (3) Estimate profitability of production by bio-economic models; (4) Select most promising canditate for further R&D work.
