The available database comprises research projects in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Seafood Processing and Marine Biotechnology active in the time period 2003-2022.
BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

During the past ten years, significant changes have taken place in production methods and in the selection of fish species produced. New marine and freshwater species have been farmed while production methods have become more technology-intensive, particularly for farms with recirculation systems. This latter development has now made it possible to farm new species in areas where they would not otherwise have succeeded. Goals: (1) Evaluate the profitability of pike-perch farming in recirculation and flow through systems by bio-economic model; (2) Evaluate the economy of different waste water treatments of land based rainbow trout farming in flow through system; (3) Develop and test intensive farming methods suitable for egg production, larval weaning and juvenile cultivation of pike-perch (Sander lucioperca).
