In the shadow of salmon farming, a couple of rounds of cod farming and most recently cleaning fish farming, halibut farming has developed into an industry that now exports fish to both European and American markets. The biggest obstacle to better earnings for today's food fish producers is the growth rate in the growth phase with high feed costs. A number of studies have been carried out on nutrition in halibut in early development, but only a few have looked at the needs of larger fish, and then mostly with a focus on protein. There is therefore a great need to increase the knowledge status of nutritional requirements in the growth phase of halibut. Main objective: To obtain knowledge about nutritional requirements for halibut. Sub-goals: • To find a balance between the feed's composition of protein, lipid and carbohydrate which is optimal for good appetite, digestion and growth. • Finding the need for water-soluble vitamins and minerals in halibut.
