Determination of performance characteristics for dimensioning of Moving-Bed Biofilters for the use in closed loop aquaculture systems for the production of fish and crustaceans as contribution to the further evolution of a water- and environmental-friendly aquaculture. Goal: Quantification of treatment efficiency (nitrification) of a Moving-Bed Biofilter under varying conditions. Based on the results, conclusions on the requirements regarding certain parameters (dimensions of the filter, flow rate etc.) were expected.
