The objective of the project is to develop production systems that contribute to safe, stable and profitable production of live feed animals used during first feeding of farmed cod (Rotifers). Instructions for enrichment and production of the live feed will be composed, describing methods for the production of live feed of maximum quality with respect to the nutritional content and bacterial quality. Sintef has designed a recirculation system for the production of Rotifers and the project will be based on this system (Aquatic Ecosystem Recirculation). The objective is furthermore to promote collaboration of the cod farming industry in the Nordic countries.
