During the First Phase, useful information was collected to define the state of the art of clam seed pre-fattening systems currently available and necessary to identify the most suitable systems for the peculiarities of the Venice Lagoon; During the Second Phase, ISPRA identified, on the basis of different criteria (knowledge of the state of health of the Venice Lagoon, indications provided by the GRAL relating to the water spaces in concession and the availability of the different Cooperatives that deal with breeding in the Venice), the areas most suitable for conducting pre-fattening activities and defined the experimental protocols for the management of the seed according to the different pre-fattening systems; the Third Phase envisaged the start and the carrying out of the trials: in this phase ISPRA it has played a role of supervision and evaluation of the activities carried out; finally, during the Fourth Phase, data processing and evaluation of the activities were carried out.
