The available database comprises research projects in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Seafood Processing and Marine Biotechnology active in the time period 2003-2022.
BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

This bilateral cooperation will investigate the occurrence and health implications of biotoxins from photosynthetic microorganisms (PM), such as microalgae and cyanobacteria that are widely occurring in fresh- and brackish waters. We will use novel methods to detect and identify the huge array of different types of biological active metabolites besides the already known microcystins, saxitoxins, okadaic acid etc. The project will focus on novel and poorly characterized compounds that are toxic to humans and produced by PM’s in DK. Emphasis will be given to compounds accumulating in fish and shellfish especially in fish farming facilities to combat future outbreaks of sick consumers.
