"A sustainable Blue Growth may be undermined by the unavailability of scientific and socio-economic observations related to the status of marine environment. The TECHERA project will tackle this problem by promoting the adoption of emerging technologies such as big-data sharing and analytics to increase the smart specialization of companies operating in the blue economy, and to attract the interest of young people in smart and blue careers. Products of previous projects will be interconnected into study examples that will promote sharing of experience, and provide evidence of potentials and benefits of integration and complementary of approaches. To achieve a consistent, meaningful, and successful communication, TECHERA will identify relevant stakeholders for thematic area 1, involving also other Standard and Strategic IT-HR projects operating in the same domain, and adopt different approaches (frontal lectures, participatory discussion, gaming) targeting the transferability of results in the Programme Area and beyond. Finally, TECHERA will propose potential inputs for the next programming period in order to contribute to the definition of a strategy for digitization and to the identification of key innovations to improve the competitiveness in the blue economy. TECHERA will exploit, inform and demonstrate the main results from 6 projects under CLUSTER n. 1: Connectivity from the sea: data driven solutions in the sea economy respectively: ADRIREEF, BLUE KEP, FAIRSEA, ITACA, PRIZEFISH and SUSHI DROP. The activities implemented are conceived to build synergies among them, resulting in an integrated cluster that will increase sustainability and transferability of results. The cluster effort will result in a reflection of future needs to make quality recommendations and flagship for the next programming period. Techera outpus (e.g. project's ideas for 2021-27) will also focus on circular economy (e.g. recover value from waste or preventing resource use in line with Circular Economy Action Plan), climate change (reducing fleet and aquaculture carbon footprint) and synergies with Horizon and LIFE Circular Economy (topic waste and topic water: marine and coastal water management) will be exploited. As pointed out during COP26, enterprises and organization may leverage digital technologies to simplify and automate emissions calculation, providing a full picture of business-as-usual scenarios and accurately forecasting reduction scenarios. Communication will be a major focus, showcasing interoperability and transferability of outcomes. Key target groups include relevant stakeholders of the sea economy at local, regional, national and international level, with dedicated digital activities and events."
