"Catching live cod for intermediate storage and feeding is an interesting alternative to the conventional use of cod. Both catching, handling and storing live cod, however, require special catching and handling procedures for optimal survival of the fish. In this project, one will collect and systematize results from existing and relevant R&D work as well as experience-based knowledge that will be important with regard to optimal welfare and survival of wild-caught cod. The material will be published in the form of a technical handbook for the industry (cf. objectives in the FHF's action plan for 2010 where under the chapter ""Better utilization of marine resources"" the aim is to create a technical handbook on catch-based aquaculture)."
