The project aims to contribute to the knowledge of the processes of development of species HAB (Harmful Algal Blooms) and to develop a set of innovative high technology methodologies for the rapid and reliable detection of these species. The research is aimed at identifying ecological dynamics of proliferation of potentially toxic taxa, by evaluating the main parameters of chemical, physical and biological agents, in order to define the conditions of the development of these organisms in areas used for shellfish farming. The research program also provides for the development of molecular techniques for the identification of algal species HAB target, in parallel to the application of traditional methods of identification.
