The available database comprises research projects in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Seafood Processing and Marine Biotechnology active in the time period 2003-2022.
BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

What is the innovation and the need behind the innovation?: Targeted breeding towards innately disease resistant fish using novel DNA-technology is the way to supply the market since traditional breeding methods are far too slow. Target: 5 specific diseases.; What is the most important competing solution?: Competing traditional breeding methods are far too slow as the mean generation time of trout is 3 – 4 years.; Who will ultimately receive the value created?: Danish trout egg companies, Danish trout producers, Consumers (healthy fish), Aquatic environment (reduced nutrient outlet); What will the applied investment from Innovation Fund Denmark mainly be used for?: Genotyping trout strains by mapping more than 55,000 SNPs in the trout genome concomitant with description of fish health.; How will the project results be implemented?: The optimized fish strains will be applied immediately in the production of fish and continued breeding programs.
