Genetics: Project at Nofima (formerly Akvaforsk) / Cigene to look at phenotypic and genotypic traits in farmed salmon and wild salmon from three salmon livers. Aims of the project are: 1. To compare a number of phenotypic characteristics in a selected line of farmed salmon (SalmoBreed) with wild salmon from three salmon rivers (Vosso, Rauma and Driva). 2. To calculate, using molecular genetic methods, the element of "Vosso genes" in today's farmed salmon of SalmoBreed lineage. 3. To compare, using molecular genetic methods, the genetic variation in SalmoBreed's populations with the variation in selected wild populations.
