The overall idea of the project is to integrate the knowledge chain "From examiner to decision". The project will build on the targeted development of maritime ICT systems seen over the past 15 years and integrate expertise in maritime surveillance, numerical marine models, communication, implementation of offshore operations, electronic maps, visualization and human-machine interfaces. The objectives of the project are aimed at securing demanding maritime operations. Traditionally, this is associated with offshore activity. However, the development of the coastal zone (aquaculture facilities, marine energy facilities, tourism, short sea transport) is given great attention in national and international strategies and this business development represents increasing values. Optimal planning and operation will therefore be more demanding and place greater demands on the decision basis for both business actors and management to be as correct as possible. The plants become larger and more stationary than before and and each plant represents great values. There is therefore an expanded need for continuous access to reliable forecasts and real-time measurements for weather that make it possible to implement local measures. One will look at developments related to 4 R&D challenges: 1) Tools for maritime operations planning and implementation 2) AIS as an information carrier 3) Operational numerical models 4) Human-machine interface, visualization, standardization and quality assurance. One will achieve innovation in 2 main areas: 1) Link between real-time data and numerical ocean models for operational use. 2) Visualization of decision support for demanding maritime operations. The work is organized in 4 work packages: AP 1: Framework for demanding maritime operations. AP 2: User interaction and information visualization. AP 3: Request closure support for demanding coastal maritime operations. AP 0: Project management and systems engineering" Goal: Develop and demonstrate dynamic decision support systems for weather sensitive, demanding maritime operations in the coastal zone.
