The project will explore the state of the edible pelagic (open sea) and demersal (bottom) populations of the Adriatic Sea. Pelagic, short-lived, planktivorne types are characterized by rapid physical growth and a high rate of recovery. The most important types are: sardine, Sardina pilchardus; anchovy (anchovy), Engraulis encrasicolus, mackerel, Scomber scombrus, bluish (mackerel), Scomber japonicus, sprat, Sprattus sprattus, giant sardine, Sardinella aurita, needles, Belone belone; tuna, Thunnus thynnus , Atlantic bonito, Sarda sarda. Vulnerability to climate change as well as other changes in the environment makes their numbers are very susceptible to fluctuations, particularly due to their position in the ecological pyramid - are behind planktonic organisms, the top producer and consumer of organic matter in the sea, and all changes in the environment react quickly. Benthic, mostly Longer-lived species, of which the most important are: hake, Merluccius merluccius, red mullet, Mullus barbatus, pandora, Pagellus erythrinus, monkfish, Lophius piscatorius and Lophius budegassa; dory, Zeus faber, and cephalopods: squid: Loligo vulgaris and squids Eledone cirrhosa and E. moschata, and cancer prawn, Nephrops norvegicus, the ecological pyramid behind offshore species. The slower growth, mainly the larger body sizes are more readily available and fishing gear. The largest number of their populations particularly vulnerable to fishing (risk of overfishing), and due to low fertility and late reaching sexual maturity less updated. They will study the acoustic properties of some organisms. Shellfish are poorly explored and exploited groups of edible marine organisms, and to the study of these organisms has dedicated special attention. Of particular importance are: warty venus Venus verrucosa, Rumenka Callista chione, home Ruditapes decussatus, Arca noae clam and chicken gallina Chamelea Because of the variability of the composition, structure and distribution of renewable energy, offshore and commercially important demersal species of the Adriatic Sea, will be studied as their population composition and structures, biological and ecological characteristics and dynamics of their populations. These organisms are edible resources, it requested, healthiest food produced in the sea. This research will lay the foundation for sustainable management pelagic and demersal fish settlements, cephalopods, crustaceans and shellfish, will define the level of sustainable utilization of these resources for the purpose of helping ensure the protection and conservation of biodiversity.
