In line with phase 1 of this pilot project, a planning meeting (workshop) was held in Bergen on 15 February 2012. The theme was whether better utilization and management of resources in an ecosystem can lead to better overall economy, especially related to national fjord fisheries, including shrimp trawls. A sketch for the preliminary project was also prepared based on the planning meeting. The project group envisages that the next step will be a phase 2 of the preliminary project, where the aim is to prepare a project description for the main project. Goals: • To ensure biodiversity and the fjord ecosystem's long-term biomass production. • To develop knowledge about the connection between biomass production, catch regulation and business activity based on harvesting wild stocks from closed fjord systems, based on the Marine Resources Act. • To develop sustainable and effective regulation systems for a mixed fishery in a closed fjord system. • To utilize biomass production in a closed fjord system optimally for the market.
