Summary In November 2004, a cruise was carried out with a factory trawler in the Barents Sea. The purpose was to verify whether the use of a T90 trawl bag was favorable for the quality of the catch. In the T90 trawl bag, the net line is turned 90º in relation to the line in a normal trawl bag. This way of using regular netlin has been shown to have a number of positive effects on various conditions around the catch, including better quality. The aim of this project was to investigate this effect in a northern Norwegian cod fishery. 17 halls were made, but not all were thoroughly analyzed for all parameters. An analysis was made of the length, weight, proportion of live fish on board, the development of Rigor Mortis and muscle pH. In addition, the fish were analyzed visually during boarding and after being taken home to the laboratory for damage to the skin and fillet. It seems that the T90 trawl bag catches larger fish than usual - in the order of 1 - 2 cm. On the other hand, it has not been possible to ascertain a difference in the quality of the fish in the two trawl bags for any of the parameters chosen for analysis.
