The project aims to clarify how marine invertebrate larvae may react to global changes affecting the oceans, using decapod crustacean larvae as biological models. The main global changes influencing the oceans to be investigated are related to: 1) Increase in average water temperature, in a global warming scenario; 2) Decrease in pH in an acidification scenario induced by an increase in atmospheric CO 2 ; and 3) Occurrence of trophic disruptions between the period of occurrence of larvae in the plankton and the period of greatest abundance of their prey.
