Industry is concerned that a newly developed selective cod end concept (SELTRA trawl) is causing relative large losses of the economically important Nephrops. The aim of the project is to optimize the geometry of the SELTRA cod end concept through extensive monitoring of the global geometry of the system in the flume tank in Hirtshals. The global geometry is monitored with optic stereo-systems techniques over a gradient of catch weights. The final design is demonstrated for the industry in the flume tank for further discussion. The project will deliver design specifications of a tested design for the Nephrops fishery in Kattegat.
