The project is a continuation of the preliminary project “The shark vessel of the future - phase 1”. The aims are: • To make measurements and documentation of important use properties for a new type of coastal fishing boat, Mjosund 49 ft medium speed, rigged for line operation. The hull shape is intended to lead to less fuel consumption, due to more efficient planing and thus less resistance in the sea than other relevant high-speed vessels of the same size and pattern of use. • To make measurements of speed characteristics, energy consumption and sea characteristics while walking in a light and possibly downloaded condition, as well as out on the fishing field. • To make noise measurements during line operation, and ergonomic solutions for gear handling and catch handling will be considered for a selected deck arrangement using a conventional stamp line.
