This project aims to generate a common strategy in the Macaronesian archipelagos to achieve sustainable management of marine resources. The rocky bottoms and meadows of Cymodocea nosoda are habitats of vital importance for the conservation of marine resources, however, they are currently the victims of significant deterioration, among the factors that damage them most is the overfishing of fishing. Therefore, a common strategy will be established in the management of these habitats in the Macaronesian archipelagos in order to achieve their recovery. They will be mapped, a usage plan will be drawn up, and they will be legally protected as protected marine spaces, establishing an important knowledge transfer in this regard. To alleviate the main threat affecting these funds, an island fisheries management model will be developed and associated studies will be conducted to this end. On the other hand, and to supplement the previous measures, a GIS will be developed for the management of the marine resources of Macaronesia and an intense awareness campaign among the local population.
