During the last decade Mackerel has been observed in Icelandic waters in increasing numbers. This is most likely due to rising sea temperature. The aim of this project is to gather primary information about distribution of Mackerel at Iceland collect samples for biological studies, and to define possible utilization. Such primary analysis is the ground for more detailed analysis regarding profitability of Mackerel fishery using various fishing gear in Icelandic waters.
