The aim of the project is to develop and test more selective fishing gear for three major Danish fisheries: - The demersal trawl fishery in the North Sea (120 mm); - The demersal trawl fishery in Kattegat and Skagerrak (90 mm); and - Improve the selection range (SR) in the BACOMA cod end used in the Baltic Sea. The new and more selective fishing gears are developed under consideration of the economy in the fishery. The project will deliver three new selective gear solutions of which two are tested in experimental fishery. Technical descriptions of the new designs will be delivered. Furthermore, an economical model to quantify the economic consequences of using the new selective fishing gears compared to existing standards will be developed.
