An ever-increasing part of the Norwegian fisheries' total catch volume is taken by the year-round fleet. These are fishing boats that are out in the field from a few days and up to several months in a row.The crew must necessarily live on board. Over time, various health problems have been reported such as perceived to be related to stays in cabins on such boats. For example, described chronically colds and major problems in maintaining a stable temperature in the cabins. Consequently, this is not conditions related to the actual work on board. The symptoms are experienced to disappear when staying on country and then re-enroll when a new work period The overall environmental aspect also includes the psychosocial environment and the aesthetic environment. It is consequently one a large number of individual factors that individually or together can cause various health problems. The fishing team at Teknologiforum has chosen to address the suggested issue to clarify whether poor indoor climate is a real problem on board some fishing boats, and if so, try to identify the causes.
