The project was supported by the Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Fund (FHF) through the LUR program and the Crab Committee. It should provide knowledge status and summarize experiences at the Institute of Marine Research from knowledge and data collection and analyses of some selected LUR species in recent years. The selected species are crab, sea cucumber, king snail, scallop, cockleshells, mussels and oysters. These are species where it is important to increase knowledge about biology and resources. It is of great importance that the harvest of these species is anchored in research and management according to the precautionary principle.
