In the wider coastal area of Argolikos Gulf deemed necessary to design a Plan of Integrated Coastal Zone Management ( ICZM ). This plan should be based on the context of good governance and sustainable use of coastal resources, in line with the Commission Communication (COM (2000) 547), A Strategy for ICZM . This plan should include specific plans such as tackling erosion on beaches or Regulated Aquaculture Siting to avoid known problems. The aim of this project was to collect all data on ecology, oceanography and fisheries of the region, so as to improve both the scientific level, and the training of business. All the anthropogenic pressures have been collected and their impacts to the environment have been studied. The data have been provided by the HCMR to a private company in order to solve many "questions" born during his long professional activities and will absolutely help in understanding the ecological image of the region. During this project some experimental surveys have been done with a small scale fishery boat to enrich the present data with additional ones.
