The MOFI project’s aims at improving the conservation status of the European Union’s largest population of the critically endangered Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) found in Greece, by mitigating the negative consequences of the interaction between Monachus monachus (decrease the overall mortality rate of the species) and the fishery sector (decrease the loss of income through the proposed provision of socio-economic incentives).
