Among the rich and fish and shellfish deposits along the Norwegian coast, there are still a number of species that are either not utilized optimally in relation to their economic potential, or are not utilized at all. The research fund FHF wants Nofima Marked to investigate the preconditions and barriers that exist for commercial utilization of these underutilized resources (LUR species). This survey must take into account resource access, harvesting methods, processing, logistics and the market. In addition, regulations and framework conditions related to catching, trading and export must also be included, as these can make further development difficult. Goal to review the status of the LUR species and make a prioritization of species with the greatest economic potential for utilization. Sub-goals To map the status of species that are underutilized. 2. To map barriers and opportunities for the species that have the greatest opportunity for commercial exploitation. 3. To prioritize 5-6 species that have the greatest potential for profitable utilization.
