The project's aim is to verify a reduction in fuel consumption of 20% compared to today's best trawlers using model tests and calculations. Goals: • To further develop hull lines for a trawler which to some extent must have ice-breaking properties and which is equipped with two propellers in the nozzle. • To test Rolls-Royce's integrated propeller / rudder system (Promas) with regard to properties during towing of trawls and as a double installation. • To evaluate the use of Rolls-Royce's HSG (hybrid shaft generator) concept that allows optimal speed and pitch of the propeller. HSG is a shaft generator, but can also be used as an electric motor for diesel-electric operation of a propeller with power from an auxiliary motor when low propulsion power is required. • To make optimal use of exhaust heat and cooling water to reduce power consumption.
