BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

To extend and improve assessments of the nature and extent of marine mammal bycatches in fishery operations. Key objective include: (1) To investigate the impact of bycatch in marine mammals at the population level; Investigating how and why bycatch occurs and to research/test promising bycatch mitigation methods; (2) To develop a greater understanding of the extent of bycatch and its impact on marine mammal at the population level in order to better inform management strategies; (3) To develop and test mitigating measures to reduce or eliminate marine mammal bycatch.
