The Norwegian pelagic vessels today deliver good quality, but there are costs associated with maintaining this quality. In addition, good quality is difficult to maintain in, for example, large catches or in bad weather. New methods that can preserve quality more cost-effectively and energy-efficiently could have an impact on the pelagic industry of the future. An important measure is to improve current cargo hold systems, including cooling systems and loading / unloading systems. As part of developing projects in these areas, it is appropriate to carry out a preliminary project that will define the most critical activities in any main projects, as well as identify skilled subcontractors for the main projects. The preliminary project aims to design one or more main projects by means of close and good dialogue with competence holders in areas related to cargo hold design and cooling systems. Measures to further improve solutions in these areas can be demanding for each individual player alone. A joint commitment for the entire industry may therefore make sense. Goal: To assess, in dialogue with business people and knowledge bearers, the establishment of one or more main projects related to the topics: • loading and unloading methods • cargo hold design • refrigeration technology Sub-goals • To assess the usefulness and economic potential of one or more main projects related to cargo hold design, loading / unloading methods and refrigeration technology, and assess which areas are critical to work on • To define specific work tasks for one or more main projects to be aimed at to improve current cargo hold solutions, cooling systems and loading and unloading methods in such a way that one either increases earnings or reduces costs • To identify actors who can participate in a reference group that will act as a controller of the project or projects' content.
