Main objective: To develop a profitable, resource-friendly and environmentally friendly new passive fishing gear (Kiil-Not) for the fishing fleet under 15 metres. The new fishing gear will contribute to increased efficiency and profitability, quality, fish welfare, less energy consumption, less impact on other unwanted by-catch, bottom and fauna and improved health, environment and safety (HSE). Sub-goals: • To carry out concept development and develop tool design. • To carry out function tests and initial fishing trials. • To carry out tests under commercial fishing conditions and on commercial fishing grounds.
