Know the current status and distribution of discards by Fishery Units and define the species and/or sizes to prevent its distribution and behaviour, both spatially and seasonally, to, based on that knowledge, designing gear modifications, or devices fishing needed to improve selectivity and the selection of the arts. The aim is to design systems to advise selective fishing and the fisheries spread the use of these systems and obtain the possible values impact on all sectors involved and affected by fishing: the medium, the extractive sector and the technology sector gear design.
