The ProBioMar project aims to contribute to the protection and restoration of biodiversity and aquatic ecosystems within the framework of sustainable fishing activities, contributing to a better management and conservation of marine biological resources, with the Ria de Aveiro as a case study. Combining knowledge in ecology and experience in modeling, ProBioMar aims to improve knowledge about the functional characteristics of target species with an impact on ecosystem functions and services. The knowledge gained will contribute to the implementation of more efficient management and conservation measures to ensure the preservation of commercially important native species and preserve seagrass meadows and associated biodiversity. ProBioMar will be implemented in collaboration with the BioPradaRia, SmartBioR and ISIT-U projects.
