BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

Following the studies of SANCO (2001-2003) Levels of lead, cadmium and mercury in more species of fish, crustaceans and molluscs produced and consumed in Spain. Samples of the different species analysed were taken mainly through the fishing research campaigns of the Spanish Oceanographic Institute on different seas. The network of scientific observers sailing on board commercial vessels also provided samples. In certain specific cases, the extractive, processing and commercial sectors provided their collaboration or, alternatively, purchases were made on the market. Levels of lead, cadmium and mercury in more species of fish, crustaceans and molluscs produced and consumed in Spain.
