Wrecks sunk in the marine ecosystems represent an important disturb to which the environment and biodiversity related react through changes in their structure. These changes occur in relation to variables such as depth, characteristic of the ecosystems, size and structure of the wreck, sources of contamination. Several wrecks present in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea have been studied and monitored in order to analyse fish fauna associated, benthic biodiversity and bottom sediment(particle size composition and toxicity). The multidisciplinary approach used in this study allowed us to identify the answers of the bottom ecosystem to the presence of the wreck and its degree of resilience and the elements of the biota associated to the wreck and their functional role. Goals: (1) To study the ecosystem effect of wrecks sunk in southern Tyrrhenian Sea; (2) To identify the answers of the bottom ecosystem to the presence of the wreck and its degree of resilience.
