The project has been carried out with a focus on competence building based on industrial needs identified along the way. Much of the competence building has been characterized by being basic research, but always based on applications relevant to the project's target group. The project has built expertise in several areas. As a result of the project, one now has better insight into what are critical operations with subsea structures and which factors require extra attention. They have worked with basic research in areas that have previously been unresolved, and it is clear that there is still a significant deficit in competence in e.g. understanding of sediment forces and hydrodynamic forces on net structures. Furthermore, the project has contributed to the development of completely new methods for simulating rigid structures, and this is expected to be a research field with significant ripple effects on structure types and possibly also fluids that have not been analyzed in this project. Objective: To develop knowledge and methods for identifying, analyzing and simulating potentially dangerous operations in order to minimize safety risk and increase efficiency. Sub-objectives • To develop mathematical models for real-time simulations of forces, response and behavior of fishing gear and subsea structures. • To develop prototypes of simulators for fishing operations and offshore subsea systems, connected to ship simulators suitable for analyzing operations and training of crews. • To develop a prototype of decision support systems based on model-based condition estimators. • To develop tools and methods for validating emergency procedures for vessels operating subsea systems.
