The Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Fund (FHF) is financing a project in 2005 to increase the sorting of small prawns in trawling. The project is initiated by fishermen and a gear manufacturer on the Skagerrak coast. A series of experiments were conducted with different grate types on board the M / S ”Lagoon” in June 2005. Based on experience in this the experiment as well as previous experiences HI has had with grates to size shrimp, were other grating solutions have been chosen for testing with M/S "Sandwind" and M/S "Catch".
