The "bullet tuna" ("Tombarello", Auxis rochei rochei), is a pelagic species with a wide habitat range found in warm, tropical and sub-tropical waters of every continent including the Mediterranean. The project aimed to improve knowledge on the organoleptic and nutritional properties of the bullet tuna. This is needed to promote the fishing of the species and in identifying potential new markets.
