Alternative energy carriers and reduced energy consumption in the fishing fleet is a topic that is relevant, and which is constantly becoming more and more relevant. The background for the preliminary project is that Selfa Arctic is in the process of developing electric propulsion solutions for the smaller vessel with lower power requirements, as well as a request from a shipowner from Myre in Vesterålen, Andre Reinholdsen, to build a 15-meter vessel rigged for teapots and spinners with the possibility for live storage of catch. Reinholdsen wants to use the concept developed in the FHF project Technology for catching and keeping live whitefish as a starting point. He wants to build the vessel with a hybrid propulsion solution with diesel-electric and plug-in electric propulsion. "1. To undertake two realistic concepts for hybrid propulsion concepts (series and parallel hybrid solutions) on two fishing vessel sizes (11 and 15 meters), which are assessed in relation to two conventional propulsion systems (diesel and diesel-electric operation). 2. Evaluate a constant magnet motor solution for both hybrid propulsion concepts. To calculate power requirements and energy storage requirements (battery capacity) for transit and fishing operations for two different fisheries. 4. To calculate energy balances and operating calculations for specified vessel sizes and operating operations, as well as for all propulsion alternatives. Consumption of fuel and electricity (from land and self-produced) must also be calculated. 5. To calculate total costs (investments and operating costs) for all solutions.
