The available database comprises research projects in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Seafood Processing and Marine Biotechnology active in the time period 2003-2022.
BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

Accumulation of hormone mimics in the environment and transmission of these substances to animals and humans is the focus of increasing attention. This research program draws attention to this complex of problems by investigating possible harmful effects of biomass accumulation in tissues used for human consumption. Special focus will be on biological functions that are regulated by hormones, such as reproduction and immune function. We use exposure with low, environmentally relevant doses of hormone mimics that affect the above bodily functions and their development during the fetal period and when exposed in vitro in cell cultures. The program will examine the effects of PCBs, brominated fade inhibitors and defined mixtures of hormone mimetics relevant to marine food chains. The program will contribute to competence building and network building within food safety, animal health and risk assessment in connection with environmental pollution. Broad collaboration has been established with other research programs, including FIRE (EU project and REPROSAFE) (Swedish research program).
